LeeW Posted January 9, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Assuming you are using wireless, make sure you have a strong signal. Weak signals on the ship really hurt your minutes - have had pages take 2 minutes or more to load. Areas around the atrium usually are good. Larger packages have cheaper minutes, so try to guess what you need. A 30 minute package for a week probably won't be enough just for email (but could be if you don't do it every day). As others have said, ports have lots of free wifi places. It is certainly possible to buy another package if you run out of minutes. You don't have to get a totally new package - when you run out they will offer additional minutes and won't charge the setup fee. They also offer a last day cheaper package so people can check in to their airlines. Problem is that internet service then often is terrible. And if you are using a smart phone make sure you turn data off! Can be very expensive on a ship.
