Been there, done that! My DH lost his job just prior to our last cruise. So, we were in the same situation. We took ZERO shore excursions, and opted to walk around the ports. And, a town-wide garage sale allowed us to "earn" the money we needed to pay for tips (in cash!) for the week.

 

 

 

And--we had a great time too!

As we both can attest, a vacation is a vacation and it's what you decide to make of it that matters! Nice idea though with the garage sale.

Great news to report: DH got a job offer on Friday ( hope its not bad luck that it was on Friday the 13th). He accepted and starts the new job in 2 weeks! Maybe they watched the video! :)
