I'm not doing FTTF but if I recall correctly can self debarkation happen as early as anyone else? We will take our bags off ourselves. Our flight is now closer to noon, like 11:56 or something. We will only have carry-ons (hopefully).

Yes, you can self-disembark even without FTTF.

To self disembark do you have to have carry on sized luggage only?

You can definitely self disembark but you have to be able to move all of your luggage without assistance. It does not have to be carry on only.

Does anyone know the earliest you can check in with FTTF or Platinum? We are planning to be there before 11, but the new staggered check in makes it different, as first time says 1 p.m.

Thanks, cruisemom67. I have the same conundrum. I purchased FTTF, and was hoping to board early so we can start enjoying the ship immediately.

  • 1 month later...

We just sailed on Fascination last week. Our flight landed at 1:10, arrived at ship about before 2:30 and our room was ready. Our flight home was at 11:41. We had no issues getting off the boat (other than our floor not being able to access the elevators. I think they need to give a few more minutes for each floor). We were at the airport and through safety by 9:30. Also, we had FTTF and never used it. There were no lines at guest services ever and the line to get off the ship at each port was quick.

We were on it a couple of weeks ago.

We arrived at the port terminal at about 11:45AM. Passed all the checked luggage with the porters as soon as the van stopped/parked, and walked right in with our cruise documents ready to go. With FTTF, we were onboard without any lines by noon and headed straight to our readied cabins to drop off carry-ons and let the older folks rest before touring the ship.

Disembarkment incurred a minor flaw. 2 of our 3 cabins got #3 Luggage Zone tags and one got #23. I didn't know about it until after the fact. But it was fine because our flight was at 1:30PM. Made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Another Fascination question:

Does the "arrival time" in the itinerary mean that's when you can leave the ship? E.g. St. Thomas - 7 a.m. one can venture out?

No. It may be different as each port. We had an excursion booked for 8:40 when in Barbados and we weren't off the ship until 8:30. When we got down to floor 3 to disembark the exits were roped off. I'm not sure what the reason was or if others were off earlier.
