snorkeling - Cayman vs Cozumel

Sailing on Liberty of the Seas in March with 6 adults and 3 teenagers - all experienced snorkelers. Which island, Cayman or Cozumel, offers the best snorkeling experience (diverse coral shapes and colors, number and variety of sea life)?

Prefer to do a private excursion on either island and would appreciate any recommendations of knowledgeable and safe operators. If a sailboat is involved, that is a bonus.

Thanks in advance.

In Grand Cayman we've twice done the snorkel and stingray city tour with Moby Dick. Mark provided great service and an uncrowded boat - no pressure to buy photos, etc. Snorkeling was okay, Stingray City was lots of fun with my daughters.

Snorkeling is better on Cozumel IMHO. We used Eagle Ray a couple of years ago for a snorkel tour and were happy. Recently we have enjoyed good snorkeling from the shore at the Money Bar - no admission fee, great facilities, plus good food/drinks/service.

Cayman is my pick, but you need a tour to get there. The coral garden and wall are amazing, and usually part of the stingray tour. I have used Naitiveway three times and had great success.

You can also snorkel from the shore just to the east of the tender dock.

I just tried to google Nativeway and had no success, is it possible they went out of business? Thanks

nativeway watersports is still very much in business and from what I keep reading, gets good reviews. Can someone who used them give me an idea of how much they charge for photos and if they sell individually vs entire set? It's just DH and I - I don't want to pay $50-60 for a pic of us.

We much prefer Grand Cayman to Cozumel for snorkeling.

We are using (and recommend) Stingraysailing, as they are a sailing catamaran, and they only allow up to 25 people onboard. We have 15 (adults and kids) and hoping we will be the only ones on the tour (we are the only ship in that day!!).
