wizard-of-roz Posted November 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2005 :p We'll be taking the Mercury to Prince Rupert and Inside Passage in September of 2006. I'd love to hear any highlights/suggestions from anyone. I wanted a veranda room but this ship does not have handicapped rooms with veranda's like the Summit does. My serivce dog travels with us and the extra room in the cabin is a plus. We just returned from Cabo San Lucas on the Summit. It was a wonderful trip. I was so "wary" about the entertainment because I had heard so many negatives about it. From the singers to the acting, from the acrobatic routines they were all "sensational!" They couldn't have been better! The beds are a bit hard (but, I like them that way.) The chocolate chip cookies, in room service, need some work. Most of our breakfasts came at the right temp. Sometimes my scrambled eggs were a bit on the cool side but the coffee was always hot! Breakfast in your room, what a wonderful concept! We had a veranda and enjoyed our coffee while watching the waves, islands etc. We met some of the nicest people. "Brenda", my service dog, was the highlight of ours/and others cruise. She was loved by most! The ship welcomed her with open arms. She played ball on deck 4 (forward) and her potty box was right close by, up the side isle outside of the Celebrity Theatre. Only the concierge desk was a little "standoffish!" I'm not sure they were all awake or really wanted to be there! Please let me know about the Mercury and Northwest sailing! Here's to many, many more cruises! And happy sailing to all! The Wizard
