laurieb Posted January 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Bonnie, can you find out if the Journey will be calling on Kaikoura or not?
BBMacLaird Posted January 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Which Voyage are you sailing? I do see on our website a call to Kaikoura listed on March 13. This is on The 16-night voyage departing 06MAR17. Is this your voyage? If so, why are you inquiring...is there reason to believe the port call won't happen? laurieb Posted January 15, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Wondering because of the earthquake awhile ago. I had read somewhere that the depth of the bay had been altered. March 6 is the sailing Sent from my iPhone using Forums

And I'll reiterate that, per usual, the Captain reserves the right to change any port call based on conditions and safety.

QueenP Posted January 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Hi Laurieb There have been several cruise ships in Kaikoura since the earthquake in November. They are currently dredging the inner harbour and most whale watching boats are still operating. There are also whale watch flights that are currently also showing passengers the landscape changes since the earthquakes. Hopefully you will get offered NZ crayfish and paua on the menus after your stop there! Sent from my SM-J200Y using Forums mobile app

laurieb Posted January 28, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted January 28, 2017 It would have been nice if for no other reason than to inject some money into an area that has been so negatively affected; I am looking forward to cruising the Marlborough Sounds though.
