Is it possible to book now, get good room choice, and say 60 days out call the casino number and transfer booking to them to get the casino rate/discount?

 

This would be a casino rate booking along with a $$$ off voucher.

Yes, it is possible to do it this way....but why would you ? I would suggest that you just call CR and book it with them right off the bat.

 

While I have had 100% success with booking a new cruise, getting a casino rate and adding a certificate discount, I have read recently that some CR members are running into trouble booking both a casino rate and certificate discount. Good luck with getting both !

They wouldn't let me use the cert on an existing res last month, even though I booked my cruise 8 months before the implementation of the "new cruises only" rule, back when you were allowed to use the certs on existing reservations. I wouldn't recommend booking first either, unless you are feeling lucky.

Any adjustment you request through the casino for either the casino rate or use a certificate will be done at the current rate.

 

So you may as well call them now to book a room, unless you are planning on cruising before then with the hopes of earning a casino certificate to use for a second cruise.
