I too am considering this. Looks like a similar price if booked through shoreexcursioneer or island marketing, but the transportation options might be different.... can anyone comment on their experience with getting there? Was the pick up spot well defined? Did you have to wait a long time for others? Was there flexibility in when you could return? Let me know how you booked as well if you remember!

And any details on food offerings?

We used island marketing. We got off the ship, walked to where the gate was and asked the plice officer where the courthouse was.

It was right up the hill, a very short walk. Our driver was there with a sign with our name on it. We went in his car and did not have to wait for others.

Nobody bothered us and we felt very safe.

Royalton had a very big buffet with lots of offerings. Food was pretty good but that's subjective.

Can anyone who booked with shoreexcursioneer tell me how long they actually got at the resort? I know the day pass is from like 9 to 6, but wondering how the pick up and drop off times are assigned which could make a huge difference in how long you are actually there.

Also, was the included transportation on a shared bus/van where you had to wait for other people, or was the vehicle provided just for you?

We are in port from 9-6 and I'm just trying to figure out how much time we will actually get to be at the resort to see if it's worth the cost.

Thanks

When we disembarked we walked to the end of the pier and followed the signs for excursions and then were directed to a white tent to the right. We did have to wait a little while (maybe because of the time change as Jamaica is 1 hour behind). We arrived at Royalton @10:15 or so as it is only a 20 min. Ride from the port. The rep. Accompanied us on the bus and met us in a very timely manner when we left the resort @3:30 (the time we chose). We weren't sure about the traffic at that time of day and it is a long walk back to the ship. Five hours was a nice time but I do wish we could have stayed longer as it is such a fun and beautiful resort. There are lots of places to eat and there is even an ice cream/gelato shop we almost missed:)

As I previously posted, our only negative was having to leave our driver's licenses with them until we left. Just don't forget to get them back at the security gate when leaving!

We did have to share a van for people who were going on another excursion but we were dropped off first and were the only ones on the bus on the way back. You choose the pick up time.

We thought it was well worth it! We are young 60 somethings and had fun in the ocean, in the lazy river, and joined a really fun group on the water slides! We participated in the pool activities and enjoyed the delicious food and drinks!

Hope you have as much fun as we did if you go there:)

We just returned from our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed our day at Royalton White Sands/Blue Waters. The beach and pools were beautiful. We had a lot of fun on the waterslides and swimming in the lazy river. There are a lot of places to have lunch. We decided on the buffet for the many choices and enjoyed eating at an outside table. There is also an ice cream venue (other than the ice cream offered in the buffet). We participated in the workout in the pool session and watched the volleyball game between the White Sands' and Blue Waters' guests while we were having some drinks in the swim up bar pool.

I recommend this place, but have only one negative concern: The resort keeps your Driver's License for the duration of your stay and you pick it up at the guard station when leaving. I'm glad we didn't have our passports with us because they asked for those. Maybe we were paranoid, but we really felt uneasy about them having our D/L. Thank goodness we remembered to pick them up!

Thanks so much for this review! I have a quick question: do you remember what time the bars opened? I've seen others post 10AM, but I just got my confirmation from ShoreExcursioneer, and it says the bar (singular) opens at noon. Just curious which is correct. Thanks!

Following!

Does anyone know how many people can fit in one vehicle? We are travelling with a couple of families. Also, we would want to bring booster seats for the kids. Is it the same driver both ways? Can you and would you trust the drivers to keep the booster seats while you are at the resort? Are there lockers that you can lock them up (along with other things) at the resort? We are going to Falmouth in February on the Allure. Also, does anyone know if there are minimum height requirements for the waterslides and if yes, what they are? And again, which is the best website to book the visit? Thanks! And sorry for asking so many questions!!!!!

Curious about how many can fit in one vehicle. We will have five.

We did the tour through Shore Excursioneer last week and it was amazing. Shore Excursioneer has a package where you can access both resorts (White Sands AND Blue Waters), which was nice because the lazy river is in Blue Waters. The driver was awesome, super nice, would definitely have trusted her to keep booster seats. The van fit 6-7 people. The height requirements for the water slide are 48 inches. My daughter is around 47 inches and she was fine, so they don't measure at the top, but it may be that they would stop a kid that wasn't on the border of the height - not sure about that. Highly recommend both Royalton and Shore Excursioneer - this was the best tour we took on the cruise!

How easy is it to use both the White Sands and its sister property, Blue Waters? How far is the walk between the two places? Once you have checked in at one property, do you need to check in at the second one also?

They are right next to each other - definitely walking distance. The catch is that most of the excursion companies sell day passes only for White Sands - if you go with Shore Excursioneer, you get passes for both. But, if you get passes from the other companies (at least the ones I was able to find online), it is for WS only (and you can't access BW, the lazy river, that side of the beach, etc.). If you do both, you should check in at BW, because if you have BW bands they work at WS (the reverse is not true).

so so you're saying the lazy river is on the Blue Waters side?

When we were there last December I didn't even know there was a Blue Waters and we were definitely in the lazy river.

has Blue Waters has Blue Waters just recently opened?

I don't want to be getting out around his information I don't want to be giving out around his information in the future if things have changed since we went.

Blue Waters opened last year I think. We were there last week and the lazy river is definitely on the Blue Waters side.

Thanks for the follow up. I'll have to stop recommending white sayings as I didn't know there were two resorts.

We have even throwing around the idea of going back there for a week.

Have a great weekend

Came across this from another CC poster from August 2016. Has anyone else who has been recently encountered the things that the poster did?

Booked Royalton White Sands thru Island Marketing back in November 2015.

Resort was crowded but nice.

As we were being "escorted" to our chairs by these three young men they took him off to the side and wanted him to go with them to smoke the "local specialty" (if ya know what I mean) which could be smelled throughout the beach area. Of course he said no. Who in their American right mind would step foot off resort property and risk being beaten, robbed or kidnapped. The "local folks" were standing at the property line just waiting for the tourists to offer up their goods or some horseback riding, which was quite sad looking at these horses standing around all day in the heat, and looking a little on the thin side. Sorry, not much for paying for animal entertainment.

I just thought it was a little aggressive for hotel employees to approach strangers and ask them to smoke weed and then constantly coming around to our chairs asking where my son was. Made us a little uncomfortable so we sat in the pool at the swim up bar for most of our time there.

Ate lunch buffet, pretty good. They also have a sports bar on property over by the pool tables and ice cream/coffee place where you can also order food for free.

Probably won't return to Royalton just because of the immediate harassment we experienced. Just a little inappropriate for me.

**Oh and a little tip: If you want a drink while sitting on the beach be prepared to WAIT. It took our server well over 20 minutes to bring 1 drink and the ice was melted. Go to the bar yourself - it's quicker!

Water slides are included with both! I'm just pretty sure the lazy river is on the BW side, that is what we were told. The pool cabanas that can be rented are definitely on the BW side, and the bracelets for the two sides were different. Have a great weekend!
