Another Upgrade Question !!!

I had thought that we had the Premium Beverage Package for our upcoming cruise but discovered it is the Classic. We will definitely want to upgrade and prefer to do it onboard so as to use OBC. I understand that the bartenders/sommeliers/ servers are all very eager to sell you the upgrade. Does anyone know why? or what the incentive maybe? Those that have upgraded, do you seem to get "better service" from the person that sells you the upgrade?

Never really noticed a difference in the level of service, we have recieved great service.

It has been reported here that the person who sells the package upgrade gets all gratuties, which on a 7 day cruise 18% would be $12.60. But I'm not convinced this is the case as not all the bartenders are visible to the passengers on embarkation day- those that work service bars, those that are inventoring and stocking the liquor being brought on board, etc
