FCC refunded back to original CC

Hi All

I am booked on a cruise departing within the next week.

When booking the cruise I used a old FCC.

My TA has just phoned me saying Celebrity will not release the tickets as Celebrity claim they refunded the FCC value back to my cc used to purchase the FCC. The TA want me to pay Celebrity the value of the FCC.

That credit card account was closed 3 years ago.

Comments and advice welcome.

Ring the credit card company and see if it was refunded, if the cards in credit they should refund you. Then if it's not been refunded speak to your TA, I personally would pay it if my cruise was in danger and then sort it out.

Thanks for the reply.

I have offered to pay and sue them for recovery of the monies due.

The credit card account is closed.

No written proof has been provided that the refund was made.

I have spoken to my TA - I paid the balance they requested.

I have just discovered that the credit card information I set up for my on board account has been deleted and I am now a 'cash' account.

Seems very odd, if they are saying it was refunded then they need to prove it. I would have paid as well but I'd want that money back. I know the account is closed but is there no way you can ring the credit card company and find out if a refund was made? Surely if the account has been closed for three years then any refund made to it would simply bounce back to Celebrity.

Good luck with it, I hope you get your money back! :(

I have left it with the TA.

I can prove I paid the balance requested by the TA.

I will pay when they provide me with evidence that I have received the refund.

Ask Celebrity or TA when it was refunded and who request it? If it was refunded - you had no booking...If they refunded after CC account was closed - there is something is wrong on X side.

And do you remember getting refund from Celebrity?

I requested no refund.

They advised it was refunded to a credit card(which I cut up in 2013) in March 2016.

I did have a booking and the Open Certificate was assigned to that booking.

There is definitely something wrong.

If FCC was refunded- it means your reservation is cancelled, therefore you have no booking. Your TA should have been notified by Celebrity at the time of refund. They cannot ask you to pay more after final payment is process. Your invoice should have said: PAID IN FULL. Somebody screwed up - let your TA deal with X.

That is where it is at.
