waterbugohio Posted January 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Can anyone tell me if you can do a 24 hr hold on a last minute cruise?? We were looking at a last minute on the Brilliance for 3/16. This afternoon there were insides and OV available. Was trying to convince hubby and now they all show gone. Any chance they are put on a hold and could be back available tomorrow?? Or am I SOL??? Thanks, guess I needed to convince him first and then look!!! Biker19 Posted January 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Even if they become available, recent pricing is not exactly screaming "bargain". Normally, this would be the time to get a deal, but that is in the middle of spring break on a short cruise - both availability and price will be working against you. waterbugohio Posted January 31, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Agree the cruise is not a bargain However. We decided we wanted a quick get away. Can get decent rates in flights. And the hotels in Florida are terrible. Like you said middle of spring break. Figured if we are going to spend close to $1000 for five nights hotel. We might as well be on a cruise and get the food and entertainment included But we were just a few hours late deciding They were there this afternoon. Hoping for a canc overnight. Fingers crossed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Biker19 Posted January 31, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2017 An E2 balcony is available today. There will likely be cabins pop up like that - you'll have to keep checking. Back to the original question - 24 hr holds seem to vary in availability across different ships and dates, but have become rare, if not gone altogether. Rare Rogueperson Posted January 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2017 I think travel agents can put a 24 hour hold on something past final payment. I think its normal for them to have that grace period before final payment can be made.
AWOL Posted January 31, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2017 I think travel agents can put a 24 hour hold on something past final payment. I think its normal for them to have that grace period before final payment can be made. We did just this when getting our next cruise. The travel agent put a 24 hr hold on our second choice type cabin, hoping the type we wanted would become available. It didn't so took the one on hold.
