Cruising with a guy who has never cruised and says he will only get off the ship if he can stay where he can see it. Any suggestions for Georgetown, grand cayman near the port?

Grand Cayman is a tender port so your ship will not dock. We were there last month and there is shopping in the terminal. You are gong to be limited if you have to keep an eye on the ship. Is your friend afraid it will go off and leave you behind?

You can easily see the cruise ships from Seven Mile Beach as well as from downtown near the terminal. (Technically, you can see the tops of the cruise ships from almost anywhere on the island, but I doubt that would be enough for him.)

 

Shopping downtown, snorkelling at Eden Rock or a beach break along SMB are probably your best options.

he can spend the day at M'ville and almost touch the ship

 

total waste of a day in Cayman IMO

 

but if it makes him happy ....

 

he can also spend the day at My Bar at Sunset ..... much better IMO

That is too funny! Shopping is right across from the tender dock in GC....he will be able to "see" the ship from there!
