We will be in Rio for a few days before our cruise March. Does anyone have a recommendation for tours or guides? Thanks for any help.

Try Rafa.

You can also just get around pretty easily and cheaply on your own to the main sights, taking taxis. You need to be vigilant, as in most cities, but it's pretty safe if you do.

The big bus tours like Gray Line or even vans like Viatur spend a lot of time on pick-up and drop-off to various hotels.

If you do hire a guide, I'd use him/her to get to off-the-path gems you might not find on your own, and DIY the major sights.

Also remember that you need a clear day, not always guaranteed, for good views from the heights (the Cristo, Sugarloaf, any of the vista points).
