cruzgryphon Posted February 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Wanted to get people's opinions. I'm looking at a cruise on the Freedom of the Seas. There are D1 and D2 cabins on deck 9 in the mid ship area. Is it worth it to pay the extra to get the D1 cabin?
Ken at the beach Posted February 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) On Freedom there is no difference between D1 and D2 other than D1 hold more than 2 guests while D2 only hold 2 guests. There are fewer D1 cabins available which us why they are more expensive. Edited February 1, 2017 by Ourusualbeach
cb at sea Posted February 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2017 ALL D cabins are the same size...simply location and number of berths....that's the ONLY difference!
leinhto Posted February 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2017 However balcony size could be different depending on location
Ken at the beach Posted February 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2017 However balcony size could be different depending on location Not on Freedom, the balconies are all the same size. (Except for the aft cabins but there are no D1 or D2 on deck 9)
Desert Cruizers Posted February 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2017 I forgot which cruise it was but we switched from a D-2 to a D-1 and paid $100 more. The cabins were maybe 10 rooms apart.
cruzgryphon Posted February 2, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted February 2, 2017 Thanks for the feedback everyone. I double checked with my TA and found out that on the sailing I'm looking at D2 is $500 Canadian cheaper. So D2 it is for me :)
