Atlantis is just a short 10 minute taxi ride at about $4 per person one way. If you have never experienced the Atlantis before and you are in port for the entire day, I say it's at least doing once. A lot to see and do there. I also like shopping at the Marina Village better than the Straw Market.

In addition to a regular taxi, there's also a water taxi. Not sure where the 1.5 hours is coming from...I've been there several times, and it's never taken longer than 15 minutes, with traffic. Just an FYI...If you plan to eat or purchase anything at Atlantis, you have to use a credit card...the only place inside Atlantis (aside from the marina village) that accepts cash is the casino.

It takes about 10 minutes to get there. That being said, there is not enough time to do everything, especially the water slides and pools because they get crowded and the lines get long. I still think its worth going, but if you are planning to go for the aquaventure park it might not be worth it to you.

Hello

I am a first time cruiser. We have never been to the Bahamas. I am wondering how long does it take to get from the Port in Nassau to Atlantis? Is it worth it?

It's not worth it besides the 10 mins taxi ride there. There's nothing to do in there unless you plan to gamble or spending bucks to use their water slides or the beach. I'd rather spend my time strolling the straw market and walk to the local Junkanoo Beach and hang out there for few hours.

We purchased a day pass for Atlantis in May. We are there from 7am - 11pm so we should have plenty of time to get our $$$ worth for our day pass cost.

We went twice, thought it was worth it, just make a plan. Get there before the slides open at 10 (we were in the pools at 9), and figure out where things are.

Last summer my husband and I did the tour of aquarium and then had lunch at a restaurant there. We had an amazing tour guide and really enjoyed it. But disclaimer my husband is an aquarium nut (he has a couple at home). So this was just his thing.

The sculptures in the casino were also amazing.

Has anyone gone to Atlantis just for the aquarium and to walk around the shops? Is it worth it?

Since they made it so that you couldn't just go to The DIG unless you had a day pass for the entire resort, we stopped going there. However, I just ready you now CAN go to just The DIG for $42 a person. In my opinion, totally not worth it. Outside of that the only thing to do at Atlantis is gamble and shop. I'd rather enjoy an empty ship.

How did you purchase a day pass? My husband and I went three years ago and we just went inside and purchased a ticket using his military I'd. We got a good price. I've heard others use some sort of hotel that gets you passes to the resort. Not sure if that is still the case.
