mikeanddiane4849 Posted February 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2017 We are on the NCL Spirit cruise on April 17, 2017 to Eastern Mediterranean and Holy Land. We sail in/out of Venice. We plan on taking the fast train from Venice to Rome on departure day on April 23rd and were wondering the best time to take the train. Is 10-11am too early or should we plan an earlier/later time? I believe we sail into Venice at 7am. It saves us a little money to pre-book it and I like to have things organized and paid for. It is a non-refundable ticket. Thanks for your help. CruiserBruce Posted February 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2017 10-11 is a good time frame. You might be able to do a little earlier, but 10-11 will be stress free. It should save you a nice sum if you booked 4 months prior to travel date. Use the trenitalia website.
euro cruiser Posted February 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2017 If you don't have much luggage you'll be fine with Venice Santa Lucia station, it's a quick ride on the People Mover to Piazzale Roma and a walk across the bridge. If you do have a lot of luggage, or if it's large/heavy, you might want to consider taking a land taxi to Venice Mestre station and going from there.
