Configuration of 110V outlet on Zaandam

We are looking to an upcoming cruise on the Zaandam. We have two tablets and two cameras that will need to be provided with a re-charge now and then. Is the 110V outlet a standard 3 prong outlet or just a 2 prong outlet? I've read that you can't use your own powerbar, especially if it is surge protected. Does the front desk charge for an approved power bar?

They're 3 prong. If you have a USB hub, you can use it. We carry a couple of cord splitters in our MacGyver bag. They are 3 prong and have no surge protection. Look on Amazon for cord splitters or outlet extenders. They'll run you around $7.

We usually charge some of the electronics on the 220v outlet. As long as the device's transformer (power brick) or internal transformer allows 220 you're good. We just take a two round pin to regular flat blade plug adapter. Just check that the transformer or device says "Input: 110~220v". Plug adapters are cheap.

This is what we do. Plus we carry a short (6') extension cord with 6 outlets on it.
