credit card

I believe that you have to complete the credit card number in order to print his boarding pass. When you are embarking on the ship, see if you can cancel the charging privileges on his cruise card. If you cannot, I would hold his card and only give it to him if he needs to go back to the room without you.

You can adjust charging privileges at the Passenger Services Desk.

BTW: when you enter the info in the Personalizer, you're asked if the credit card is for all pax in the cabin. If you answer "yes", you don't need to give a credit card number for the other pax. At least, that's the way it works for me and DH.

Then once on board, change charging privileges for your son to "none" or a $$ amount.

Do not hold his card. He needs to carry his card at all times on the ship in case of an emergency.

You can go to Passenger Services and cancel charging privileges for his card. They will still charge the daily "hotel charge" (gratuity) but he will not be able to charge anything else.

If you want him to be able to get sodas and other drinks, you may want to purchase the Soda and More package for him. That way he can "purchase" the sodas without being able to charge.
