Grungycat Posted February 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2017 I have been platinum for several cruises but this is the first cruise I will not be in a suite. Will the concierge be able to escort us off the ship for each port? disembarkation etc? Thanks

Rare BirdTravels Posted February 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2017 That's how it is suppose to work. Been on many cruises as a platinum guest. We have been "offered" support only a few times. (e.g., the concierge leaving a card or letter in our cabin). Never explicitly sought concierge services. pieshops Posted February 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Pretty sure only escort off for suites They will help with other things like dining and shows
Kingmaker_inc Posted February 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2017 I *think* the concierge is only for on board services. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.
Markanddonna Posted February 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2017 We had priority tendering as gold latitudes and were treated like suite folks.
Cruzncutie Posted February 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Pretty sure only escort off for suites They will help with other things like dining and shows That makes sense. The concierge meets suite guests in the Haven lounge for disembarkation. Your key card needs to be programmed to allow access to the Haven area. I'm guessing that non Haven platinum members' cards don't give them Haven access otherwise the bar, sun deck, courtyard etc would be pretty crowded. df5250 Posted February 19, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2017 From past experience, platinum are given priority disembarkation when arriving back to home port and given a meeting point where someone guides us to the line that has formed by self walk-off's! It is most definitely not the same as suite guests, having done both. However, I do not know about ports of call. Once back in NYC, platinums were first in line after the self walk-off, but waited in the line with every one else to get off the ship and pick up luggage. As suite guests, we were escorted to the front of the line to get off the ship and able to walk past everyone in the long line heading into the cruise terminal. Last time disembarking in NYC we had to show our key card once off the ship to prove we were suite guests to skip the line! I am hoping the platinum priority disembarkation has improved under the new program! Sent from my iPad using Forums
asubaru Posted February 19, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Not for each port. According to the new guidelines, you will get priority embarkation and disembarkation. You also get priority tender tickets. Thanks No. The concierge escort is only for suite guests. The concierge platinum perk is only for onboard things like help in getting restaurant reservations. Personally in three platinum cruises on Star, Jewel, and Jade I have never been given the phone number for the concierge.
