Anthem Internet question

OK, I've been on Anthem before, and we've always used the "Surf" package (which was considerably less $$ than the "Surf and Stream". It was perfectly fine for our needs.

 

There is a pre-cruise sale on internet packages, but only the "Surf and Stream" is being offered.

 

Is the Surf only package still available onboard? Or do I need to buy the more costly Surf and Stream? (Since I have a C&A discount that I can apply onboard, I am not too concerned about the sale)

Yes, Surf is available on board but it is more expensive than Stream pre-cruise ($13 vs $12).

 

For a typical sailing (7 days), you can come out ahead buying on board if you are D and up.

By the way, Skype chat works without an internet package by connecting to royal-wifi. But you cannot video chat, it doesn't work. My daughter chat a lot with her BFF and sent a lot of pictures while at sea.

Anything working without an internet package is probably an intermittent issue..
