We are on the westbound TA on the Reflection which gets into Ft. Lauderdale on November 3rd. What time should be choose our flight home to Phoenix? Should I allow more time than usual because of possible custom delays? Is 9:30 too early? Any recommendations are appreciated

Yes. 9:30 is too early although doable. Try to stick with an 11:00 or later flight. :)

I agree, too many variables such as delayed arrival time and number of customs agents at customs. Also remember, all the crew has to go through customs too. Just too much worry about the night before.

You might have a chance of making it if you do the walk off and there aren't many ahead of you and you have ground transportation lined up. In December we did normal debarkation and were off the ship by 8:30 and there was a long line for taxis, but we were ok as our plane didn't leave until 11:45 am.

If you decide to do it, make sure you have a plan b.
