Seattle Pre-cruise

We are flying into Seatlle a few days before our cruise this August. We have not booked a hotel yet, but are thinking of going thru Hotwire for a downtown hotel. I am looking for info on how to get around Seattle without renting a car. We would also like to take a ferry up to Victoria and spend an afternoon there. There will be 5 of us, and am planning on taking a taxi from the airport up to the hotel and also to the port. Any help on what to see and do and how to get around would be much appreciated.

From downtown and without a car about the only route to Victoria is using Victoria Clipper.

From airport to downtown a shuttle service is probably the best route for 5 people. A couple taxis will probably suffice for hotel to pier (pier 66 if NCL otherwise pier 91 a few miles north of downtown).

Without a car you're pretty much limited to sights in and near downtown (Pike Place Market, Seattle Center & Space Needle, waterfront, Pioneer Square, International District, etc...). If the weather is really nice and especially on a weekend day a nice car-less option is light rail to Husky Stadium at U. of Wash. walk a few blocks and watch boats and kayakers in Montlake Cut - the waterway that connects Lake Washington to Lake Union. View of Mt. Rainier from there too if it is clear. Another car-less option out of downtown is walk-on ferry ride to Bremerton or Bainbridge Is. The USS Turner Joy museum right at the Bremerton ferry dock is interesting and often missed.

I highly suggest that you start looking for a hotel in Seattle. Your going to find that hotels in Seattle during the cruise season are very expensive. I can tell one place that you don't want to stay at and that would be the Seattle Hotel. Here are the Yelp reviews https://www.yelp.com/biz/hotel-seattle-seattle You could consider staying out near the airport and taking the link into town.
