SwissDave Posted March 25, 2017 #126 Share Posted March 25, 2017 On our cruise a few weeks ago at the Muster Drill a passenger got rowdy and started a fight with the crew member. During the long announcement she kept talking and talking making it difficult for passengers who may have never heard the actual instructions and for others who just wanted to listen. Anyway, the crew member asked her to please stop talking. He was very professional. So she started talking very loud that she has been on 50 cruises, and she does not have to pay attention nor stop talking, If fact, she really didn't want to be there. So again the crew member said he was doing his job, said an apology and said he was sorry to upset her, but this is what he had to do. She slammed down her life jacket, told him he was nothing but a pain in the ass, and left. I know it wouldn't happen, but I would have loved for her to be escorted off the ship. For sure if something really happened to the ship, she would be the first screaming no one was helping her. This is the type of person you need to keep away from in an emergency, along with those who are sleeping, have headphones on, playing on phones/tablets, sleeping etc. They are the most dangerous to be around in an emergency because if they cannot follow a simple rule during a drill, then they certainly won't be reliable during a real emergency. If you ever have the misfortune to actually have to muster, keep as far away from this type of person as possible.
SantaFeFan Posted March 25, 2017 #127 Share Posted March 25, 2017 SantaFeFan and Jagsfan,Your duel will start at dawn. Do you prefer pistols or swords?? :) Tony Swords for me. I have always wanted to make that "swang" sound heard in the movies when they are pulled out of their sheaths. :D
jagsfan Posted March 26, 2017 #128 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Nice diversion! ;) You only say you have never gotten a ticket, not that you don't run red lights. Are you a politician of some kind? :p Ha! Nope, I don't run red lights and I stop at stop signs even when I'm the only human in 20 miles. I don't drive like a granny, either, even though our first great grandchild is due in September. Cruisin' Chick Posted March 26, 2017 #130 Share Posted March 26, 2017 I can't remember having a post-sailaway muster on any of my cruises.
SantaFeFan Posted March 26, 2017 #131 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Ha!Nope, I don't run red lights and I stop at stop signs even when I'm the only human in 20 miles. I don't drive like a granny, either, even though our first great grandchild is due in September. That's good to hear. I have been driving for over 50 years and still drive like the obedient driver that I was taught to be. I also stop at red lights and stop signs, and keep it at the speed limit. After over 50 years, I still get to where I am going just fine without feeling the need to speed. I even got rear ended one time when the cars ahead of me barely slowed down for a right turn on red and I obediently stopped, but the guy behind me thought I would blast through it like he and the others decided to, and he ran right into me. Over $3,800 damage to my Subaru, just for obeying the law. Go figure!!! :( Glad you and I are having fun with our back and forth. No malice on this end, and I suspect none on yours either. (y) Congrats on your first grandchild! :champagne-toast:
Kingofcool1947 Posted March 26, 2017 #132 Share Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) What's it really matter when you have it as long as you do have it - and you will. Because you might die as soon as your ship gets underway. Good luck, and if God wills, you live and not die on your next cruise. Why wouldn't she get escorted off the ship? She was interfering with a mandatory safety drill.
