we3k9 Posted March 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2017 I have heard mention of this at Le Bistro, and I am curious. What does it taste like? Is it more orange roughy like or more flounder tasting? I like fish and have had cod and white fish and the above mentioned, but what makes Dover Sole special? DMH15 Posted March 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2017 It is very mild. A premium fish. I had it at LB a few weeks ago. Loved it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Love.II.Cruise Posted March 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Dover Sole for me is like Lobster for others! It is a very delicate white fish that is just delicious! However, on our last Epic cruise they ran out! :loudcry:
SuiteTraveler Posted March 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Dover Sole and Flounder are related flatfish and so similar they are sometimes sold under either name. In some cases the name they are sold under depends on where they came from. BabysBday Posted March 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Definitely a mild fish. I enjoyed it at Le Bistro last week. A funny thing, though, my companions all either ordered the scallops or the other fish dish and when our entrees were served, they all had a dome-type dish cover which was dramatically removed by the server except for me. We all laughed that I was like the black sheep cousin who basically just got her dish slapped on the table in front of her while everyone else got the top-shelf presentation. :')
