Jewel of Seas Vs. Navigator of Seas

Hey cruisers!

We are about to book either the Jewel of Seas or Navigator for the Eastern Carribean Cruise leaving Feb. 25th & would love opinions on what you liked/disliked about either ship.

They have basically the same itinerary but Jewel of Seas is a 8 night cruise so we're leaning towards it but would love some feedback.

Thanks & Happy Cruising!

Royal Carribean ?? - 2/06

Grand Princess - 2/04

Celebrity Millenium - 2/03

Celebrity Millenium - 3/01

Navigator is a Voyager class ship(Voyager, Explorer, Adventurer, Navigator, Mariner) so any opinions people would give you on any of those would be appropriate. These ships are all the same except for the balcony set up which IMO is better on Navigator and Mariner. Jewel is a Radiance class(Brilliance, Jewel, Radiance and Serenade)

You will find more activities on the Voyage class including ice skating, larger Adventure area, Johnny Rockets(extra charge), Promenade, etc. As a result the Voyager class is more of a draw for families, so with kids great; without kids you may prefer Jewel.

We had to decide between those two ships as well for our March 06 trip. My kids (15 & 14) made the decision of the Navigator because of the Promenade. When we were on the Radiance, there was no promenade and they really missed it.

I liked the idea of the 8 day on the Jewel however we just ended up booking an extra night in a hotel in FLL since the kids have never been there so it will be an extra 'port' for them.

I was in the same boat so to speak, whether to do Navigator or Jewel for the Eastern Caribbean. We opted for the Jewel of the Seas 8 night. I have read so many wonderful reviews of this ship, that we decided we just had to do it. Read alot of wonderful reviews on Navigator too, but I like the size of ship and the fact it has less passengers. We booked a JS on Jewel leaving January 13, 2007.

We did the EOS last May as a family reunion cruise. It's identical to the Navigator & was perfect for our needs. However, I'm really excited about our upcoming Jewel cruise on the Eastern itinerary. We love the idea of the 8 night & the smaller, more elegant ship. It's also RCI's newest ship, at the moment. The itinerary looks great, too. We still have 5 ports but that extra day gives us one more day to relax. As the previous posters have stated, I would stick with the Navigator if you have kids along with you, otherwise go for the Jewel!:D
