satie37 Posted March 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2017 I am sailing on the Prinsendam in July and have $200 on board credit.... what can I spend this on.... am I allowed to apply it to gratuities, shore excursions...etc. I know different cruise lines have different rules about the use of OBC. I am a first time cruiser with HAL. Thanks!!!
Rare POA1 Posted March 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Pretty much any of the things you mentioned.
cb at sea Posted March 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2017 It is merely a credit against any charge you incur. You can't specify what you want to use it for....if you have $150 OBC, then the 1st $150 you spend will be covered.

alwaysfrantic Posted March 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Is it from HAL, or from your travel agent? They can both be spent the same onboard, but ones from some travel agents are refundable if you don't spend them, so it goes back on your card when you leave. But surely $200 will get spent, so no worries :)
satie37 Posted March 21, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted March 21, 2017 It is from HAL. We booked direct through their site. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
DaveOKC Posted March 21, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2017 $200 goes quickly. The hotel service charge (tips) alone amount to almost all of that just for a 7 day cruise.
mnasf Posted March 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2017 When we booked our cruise, we received two dinners at a specialty restaurant. Can we book these in advance? Thanks!
