Hi there

we are looking forward to our trip but havent ever sailed on Holland America. Can someone please tell me on this sailing what nights the gala nights will be and will there be 3 or 4? The cruise is 14 nights and when I called HA they told me 3 but couldnt tell me what nights they were yet when I read their website it says on cruises of 14 nights there will be 4? Now Im totally confused. Also is sports jacket and tie ok on the gala nights as not sure we can be bothered to bring black tie all the way from Oz. Cheers all and appreciate it :cool:

I am also on that sailing. I'm not sure when the Gala nights are, but I do know they will be on a sea day. Come on over to the Roll Call for that cruise. Perhaps someone there has the answer.

HAL no longer requires men to wear jackets and ties on formal nights. Just slacks and a collared shirt.

Our last 21 day cruise we had 4 Gala nights so for your 14 day cruise you may only have 3.

And we saw very, very few people dressed up on Gala Night.
