Rockysfan Posted March 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2017 Hi there, We are sailing on Ovation on their 14th April sailing and will be stopping at Hue Danang. We have looked at many RC excursions but they are both expensive and not really what we're looking for. We has hoped to use the excursion Hoi An on your own as a means of transport from the cruise into the town, but want to spend a day at the beach and browse the area at our own leisure. Id really appreciate any advice that anyone can give on the best way of doing this, that is cost effective

Id really appreciate any advice that anyone can give on the best way of doing this, that is cost effective Haven't cruised there, but we just spent 4 nights in Hoi An. Hoi an itself is easy to see on your own. Taxis cruise one street up from the pedestrian only zone...have one take you to the beach. Mai Linh (green taxi) is a reputable company and the predominate company there. Taxis are cheap in VN.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted March 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2017 Take plenty of time for the town itself, and skip breakfast so you can be hungry for the awesome food. Bep Truong is a great shop and coffee spot and restaurant - if you want movie art, it's a place to go. Also look for the "fresh beer" early in the day. I would just take a taxi from the port to Hoi An. No worries about meeting a shorex schedule and the driver can take you straight to the beach if you want to start there. The Mai Linh taxis are reputable and well-maintained.

buggins0402 Posted March 31, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2017 You can also add Taxi Group as a reputable taxi company. Mai Linh is primarily Saigon north to Danang. Taxi Group is the primary in Hanoi, but saw them in every city. Taxi Group cabs are white with red chevrons.
