Cruzer Two Posted March 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2017 Click on http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=52701886&postcount=386 for information on viewing my video of our port calls in Jakarta and Semarang that included a trip across the mountains to Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple. Great excursion and worth the long trip.
tring Posted April 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Interesting again - thank you. You mention the need for a tourist police escort across the mountain road. Is that because of the risk of terrorism? Not sure I would be that bothered though as all parts of the world seem to be at risk now. The tourist police escort was to aid the tour buses getting across the mountainous terrain and through the small villages on the long journey to the Borobudur. The excursion is scheduled for 9 1/2 hours. Without the escort, I think the trip could easily take much longer and delay the departure of the ship. We never unsafe or threatened! Hope this clarifies! Thanks for asking!
