Letting Carnival Pick Your Room

We will be sailing on the Pride in July. Yesterday my PVP called me and offered me an upgrade to a balcony for a great price so we took it. Only thing is we don't get to pick our room. When do they usually assign rooms?

There's a long thread with the history everyone's posted so you might want to read that. It can be anywhere up to the moment you arrive at the pier. I'd say most folks usually hear somewhere between 20-50 days prior.
