shygirl Posted November 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2005 How can I find a freestyle daily for the current 10 night eastern carribbean? We have a little one that goes to bed early, so I need to know which shows we can catch early on which nights. Do they have the same schedule for theme dinners on all 10 nighters? Which night was the Captain's Gala and President's Dinner? Sara
inai Posted November 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2005 I just returned today from the 10 day eastern Caribbean on the Dawn. I have the Freestyle Daily in front of me. Stardust Theater shows are all at 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Your first full day at sea is optional formal attire at the Captain's Gala Dinner. The 8th full day is the optional formal Farewell Dinner. Hope this helps.
shygirl Posted November 21, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Inai, Welcome back and I hope you had a great time. Thanks for the reply. What are the main(not to be missed shows) and which night were they on? This is our first time on the Norwegian. Are any of them appropriate for an 8 yr old? Is there a Magic show? Do they repeat them thru out the 10 nights or is every night a different show? Is the Farewell dinner the same as the President's dinner? Did they still have specials at the premium restaurants the first 2 nights? Sara
juried Posted November 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Hi, I see that you have recently been on the Dawn. Can you look in the Freestyle Daily and tell me if the band Modal Magic is still onboard? We all just loved them last year. Thanks, Juried
inai Posted November 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2005 juried Yes. Modal Magic is still performing. Shygirl, We had a wonderful time, but we were disappointed that rough seas did not permit us to go to Stirrup Cay. So it was a "very slow" 3 1/2 days back to NYC. Yes, there is a magic show. We only went to two shows. (The casino interrupted some of our plans) Your 8 year old might like the Skinny German Juggle Boy and "Bollywood" (on Farewell Gala night). I would not recommend any of the comedians. I believe the Star Spangled theme replaced the Presidents theme. I don't know which night that is on. First night was 50% off at the specialty pay restaurants.
NJGRANNY Posted November 21, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 21, 2005 The Skinny German Juggle Boy was hilarious and a really good juggler. There was a magic show, but I didn't see it. Bollywood was fabulous. They brought a bunch of kids in from the kids program to see it. Enjoy!
inai Posted November 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2005 NJgranny Where were you on the ship! We never saw you! You never came to the CC meet and greet. We had a lot of fun meeting everyone. To shygirl, Every night there is a different show. Make it a point to sign up your 8 year old in the Kids Crew. Everyone who had kids, say the kids loved the program. shygirl Posted November 22, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted November 22, 2005 Inai, We also have a 2 year old that will go down about 9pm everynight. That is why I need to know which nights have the early 7:30 shows that we are interested in so we can put him in the kid's club from 7-10pm. This will also help me decide when to book premium restaurants without my children. Could you please let me know which night is the German juggler, the magic show and Bollywood? Thanks-you so much in advance, I am so overwhelmed by the menus, and having to book them when we first board. Sara
inai Posted November 23, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2005 shygirl, I will give you a rundown of my Freestyle Daily evening shows. 1st Night (Set sail) 9:30 pm Dan Hodge (Vocal & Piano) & Fire & Ice (Band) 2nd Night 7:30 & 9:30 South Beach Rave 3rd Night 7:30 & 9:30 Spotlight Showtime (Comedy Ventriloquist Phil Hughes) 4th Night 8:45 "Family Feud" Comedy Game Show 5th Night 7:30 & 9:30 Dan Hodge & Phil Hughes 6th Night 7:30 & 9:30 Gleason Magic Show 7th Night 7:30 & 9:30 Second City Comedy 8th Night 7:30 & 9:30 Skinny German Juggle Boy 9th Night 7:30 & 9:30 Bollywood Missing 10th Night We only saw 2 shows; Skinny German Juggle Boy and Bollywood, both very good. I can't tell you anything about the others. You really don't have to book every restaurant when you board unless you want a specific restaurant a at specific day and time. There is also a ver long line at the reservation desk when you arrive. Don't know if your kids can handle waiting. Hope this helps.
shygirl Posted November 24, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted November 24, 2005 Inai, This was exactly the info I needed. I will line up by myself, while my husband take the kids to open house/kid's crew. You have made my day! Thankyou! Sara

inai Posted November 26, 2005 #12 Share Posted November 26, 2005 The ages varied on the Dawn in Nov. Not too many kids. I would say mostly people in their 40's and 50's (prob. their kids are in college) and quite a few retired folks. I will say the retired folks behaved themselves and were friendly. We were on the Zenith in Aug/Sept. and the 65+ crowd were very pushy.
