O2B_CRUZN Posted April 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2017 We are leaving on Sunshine in one week! We are a family of 5 with kids 14,12,9. I'm in the midst of packing all five of us for 8 days. We have cruised 8 times before on various lines. I have never done laundry on a cruise. I'm thinking that if I could do even one or two loads while onboard, I could significantly reduce the number of clothes we bring. However, I can't seem to shake the feeling that if I only pack for 5 days, something will go wrong (washers will be broken, or continuously full) and I won't be able to do my laundry and we will be stuck wearing dirty clothes for the last 3 days. Any thoughts? How big are laundry facilities on Sunshine? Where are they located? Tips?
BoDidly Posted April 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Don't put nothing of real value in the bags. T shirts and shorts are fine. Expect it to come back wrinkled and packed. The bags are around the size of a small pillow case and they tear easy. Laundry rooms are small with other people having the same thoughts as you, be prepared to wait for a machine. lizardhowson Posted April 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2017 They have multiple laundry rooms on the ships, usually 2 washers & 2 dryers in each laundry room (sometimes 3 & 3) You will be able to do laundry. You might have to go up or down a deck to find an available washer/dryer.
cruizergal70 Posted April 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2017 I intentionally only pack enough clothes for half the trip and just do laundry. My tip is to do it either early in the morning or late at night. Both times people are either eating, sleeping, or partying. Laundry rooms will be empty. bramptonroy Posted April 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Do you still need loads of quarters for the machines?
