  1. Thanks for the reply. I'm not the best swimmer and was worried about being in deep water.
  2. I know at Dunn's River Falls, there are a few "pools" along the way as you climb up. How deep is the water in those areas? Is there any area along the Falls that's over 4 feet deep?
  3. It's hilarious how people make excuses for Cunard. If that same rust or slew of broken theater seats were on a different cruiseline, folks would be singing a different song.
  4. You can buy decorations for the room and get a celebratory cake to make things fun.
  5. I didn't ask why. I asked WHEN. There can be a crowd in the morning as I've experienced on some cruises.
  6. I usually workout early in the morning when the gym first opens (6 am). While it's not crowded, the crowd increases as time rolls on in the morning. Has anyone gone to the gym after 5 pm? Is there a crowd? When is the gym mostly empty?
  7. How much can you walk? If the walk from the gangplank to the piers/port is too much, you may not have the physical ability to get to shuttles, taxis, etc.
  8. It's not semantics. The word "banned" indicated that people had no choice in the matter. People did have choices. Some chose to not get vaccinated. There are consequences to every decision.
  9. For Mexico, I would carry Pesos. Your bank should be able to provide the Pesos. Yes, they will take USD, but the exchange rates will be crap and will vary from place to place.
  10. If you go to Naples, look to do the "Underground Naples" tour. It was excellent.
  11. Not to divert, but if masks didn't do anything, why did medical personnel wear them for decades before Covid? Even basic surgical masks??? OK. Back to your normally scheduled thread.
  12. It's a bit on the high side. It depends on if you like sea days or if you need to visit those places outside of Antarctica. It's pretty standard to have an overnight stay in Buenos Aires. You will have to take personal precautions to stay safe from Covid.
  13. I'm a woman who solo travels. Fear is not the first thing to lead with. If we're talking cruising, doing cruise line excursions can alleviate some concerns. I'm planning land vacations to some of these places and I'm not worried.
  14. That's the thing. People won't care that they are positive and will cruise anyway. They don't care about infecting others.
  15. Common sense, business knowledge, and reading these posts for years. A bunch of people indicate that they get the drink package so that they don't have to look at their running tab. They don't care if they hit the actual dollar amount. They are willing to pay for the "convenience. "
  16. Does Carnival really need to communicate payment dates and multiple reminders? Why? I keep these details in my head and if I need a reminder, I put it in my phone.
  17. You should contact Special Services to make them aware of your dietary wishes. What medical condition calls for the avoidance of mammals?
  18. When we cruised to Europe, we took a stash of Euros. About $350 worth per person as we wanted to minimize issues with using a credit card. Most banks in the US can provide the Euros. BOA will even mail it to you at home. We just carried what we needed for each port stop and stored the rest in the cabin's safe.
  19. Good for you. The OP asked a question. I answered. Simply a cost benefit analysis based on lifestyle. There's also the truth that many people will get the package and will not come close to drinking $600 of beverages if they paid individually. *shrug*
  20. Are you willing to pay $600 just for beverages? For me, $600 is half way to another short vacation.
  21. Get the Presidential Suite on the Mardi Gras and have your own personal hot tub on your balcony.
  22. One comment. Oceana does not get free airfare from the airlines. They pay the airlines and they add the costs to the cabin fare. Even with a discount, you are still paying essentially the same for airfare. You seem to think that airfare provided through the cruise line is magically cheaper.
  23. Yeah, but there are more lines than HAL and Celebrity. Then you have to consider that not everyone drinks, eats at the pay restaurants, or care about the internet.
