cruisinmeme Posted April 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2017 for those of you that has done this excursion can you return to ship at any time. Says it is a 6 hour excursion but wonder how often they have a ride back to ship if we want to cut it short.
reaperman Posted April 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Does this book thur the ship? Otherwise just grab a cab there and find one when you want to leave. It's pretty simple. We booked thru bananarama, they pic you up, give you chairs and access to their facility plus a free drink for $30 pp. And call a cab when u want to leave. Doing it on your own is basically the same price or more once you pay cab, rent chairs, etc.
Rare coldweather Posted April 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2017 I have done this excursion 2 times. The vans start returning to the ship early. So, yes, you can return to the ship early.

Thanks, I had a hunch but didn't want to be stranded for 6 hrs. We did maya key and that's how it worked.
CruisingPiper Posted April 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2017 I really enjoyed NCL's location (did it twice). We got to Roatan late a few weeks ago due to a diversion for a medical emergency. They cancelled our excursion so we caught a cab to the West End area ourselves for the few hours we had there. I really felt the Tabayana area used by NCL was far nicer than where we ended up. Weather was so bad none of the stores near port opened. They lost all electric power. We just watched it rain all day. Then the next time. Wind and rain again, cancelled excursions again. We were able to go shop in rain. Sure hoping for a better outcome this time. We did the May key before and liked it. The beach there was dreadful. I don't do seaweed. Figured the area used Nanclares would be better than what you could do on your own. That's how they can get the big bucks.

Says it is a 6 hour excursion but wonder how often they have a ride back to ship if we want to cut it short. I have done this excursion five different times both on NCL and CCL. Vans begin returning to the ship at approximately 1:30 p.m. You can't go back before then.
