tper Posted April 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2017 Looking to book either the 7 day or 11 day cruise to Tahiti. By looking at the itinerary you get 2 days of just sailing and a day at each of the other two Islands, Rangiroa and Fakarava. We are not certified scuba divers, so we are wondering is the 11 day cruise worth the cost versus the 7 day cruise which does the same route as the 11 without the extra sailing at sea and the extra 2 islands. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
sb44 Posted April 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2017 We're not divers either but two more sea days and two more islands after traveling all that way sounds like heaven to me. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Strenz Posted April 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2017 If you have the time more is better especially on the WS in Tahiti, glorious ecperience. Have a great time. Truly it is the only way to see and experience that beautiful part of the world to be on a beautiful small ship with sails.
tper Posted April 12, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted April 12, 2017 I guess what we are trying to say here is other than the sheer beauty of the islands, are there other things to do on these two islands. The excursions listed state the islands are very remote as quoted here Please note: The Tuamotus are very remote islands. This is mainly a scenic tour, so commentary from the crew will be very limited /almost non-existent. Their command of English may be very poor. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated. Wear comfortable attire including shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen and a bottle of water. Expensive jewelry and expensive clothing should not be worn. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes. Are there other things to do on these two extra islands

Cruisedreamer1 Posted April 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Go for the longer cruise if you can afford the time or cost. The islands are beautiful and the waters every shade of blue. The flight from LAX is 8 hours you will want to max out your visit.
ElaineJC Posted April 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2017 That's why we decided to go with the 11-day Tahiti cruise. We're traveling a long way to French Polynesia and decided a 7-day cruise just didn't seem like enough time for all that distance. If you like to snorkel, it sounds like Fakarava and Rangiroa will be amazing for that. Definitely think the extended cruise will be worth it. tper Posted April 25, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted April 25, 2017 (edited) Thanks all for providing your info here. Much appreciated. We decided to pass on the Tahiti trip and move from the Pacific to the Caribbean. We booked an 11 day cruise with the Star Pride. We would have loved to seen Tahiti and the islands, but the flying to get there from the East coast was a little bit more than we wanted to take. Maybe if the flying there improves with more of a choice in airlines, we will take up the adventure in the future. Thank you so much though for all your help. Time to switch over from Wind Spirit to Star Pride here. Thanks again. Edited April 25, 2017 by tper
