Hello!

 

My husband and I have been on a few cruises and this summer we are taking our 2 year old son. I know I have to bring his birth certificate to verify his ID, however, I have heard that certain ports require passports for anyone entering the country. My understanding was this was not the case for cruisers. Can anyone speak to this? My husband and I have passports, however there is no time to get our son one.

 

We are going to Cozumel, Rotan, and Belize

Out of Florida and returning to Florida? If yes, no....no passport required. Just his birth certificate.

Which is a "closed loop". You are good to go! No passport. Have been to all the Islands you are visiting and none of them require a passport when leaving or reboarding the ship. Have a great time! :cool:

As long as it's "closed loop" and you are AMERICAN, the the BC is all he needs.

NONE of the Caribbean countries require passports from cruise passengers.
