1964IceCreamLady Posted May 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2017 My parents are in Lisbon. They boarded the Corinthian for "Spain's Northern Coast and the Bay of Biscay" cruise. All unpacked. They were called to what they thought would be the muster drill, but instead were told the cruise was cancelled. Another poster (H20tstr) wrote me that they were supposed to be on the Corinthian last week, but their cruise was cancelled.
rjp50 Posted May 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2017 I assume that this must have been a mechanical problem. What kind of compensation did Grand Circle provide? We have cruised and traveled with them many times and have found them to be honorable.
1964IceCreamLady Posted May 25, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 25, 2017 No explanation provided (it MUST have been mechanical). Compensation was notable: full refund plus first class tickets home.
Members Rare Cruise Critic Chris Posted May 25, 2017 Members #4 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Hey, wanted to let people know I looked into this. Here's the response from the company's spokesperson on Corinthian: I don’t have all the details but we did have a mechanical problem with the ship, put it in dry dock for repairs, and the repairs have been done. The ship was sea tested in the past week or so, passed all tests and is ready to sail.
