Back to back cruises - Anyone do it?

Did back to backs last year on the Jewel and had a great time. 14 days of cruising is better than 7 days. The only downside is that you will see the same entertainment. The menu will also be repeated which may or may not be a good thing depending on how you found the food the first week.

Did back to back on Century last November. It was great. We did the western carribean the first week and then the eastern carribean week 2. It was so much fun not having to get out of our room on the day the ship disembarked after the first cruise. You will get a transit pass if you wish to get off the ship and then get back on. Celebrity has a very nice lunch in the dining room that day just for the people who are staying on. There were about 3 tables of us. It was nice to see different ports all on the same ship. Do it and enjoy all life has to give. Pat

That's what we're doing this coming January on the Constellation. We've done mostly 14 day trips before now and this will be our 1st B2B. The comparison will be interesting, particularly since Celebrity seems to be moving away from the 14 day itineraries.

WE just booked Back to Back Panama Canal LA to FLL and back to LA for next November/ December on the Summit.

This will be our first back to back and are realy looking forward to it.

I must say that Celebrity is the first line to offer exactly what we have been looking for in a back to back. The wife says how do we pack for 14 days east and 14 days west? Very carefuly!!;)

Happy cruising to all!!!!

Done B2B on the Century and will do it again in Feb on the Constellation....miss a show the one week because you were tired - there is another one next week. Enjoyed something this week - hey there is another one next week. The pressure to see as much as you can just isn't so big.

Last night..... while everyone else is packing and you are laying back & kicking up your feet - no better experiance. The next moring while evrybody has to get up early - you go to breakfast late and enjoy it lesurely while everyone else is in a flap....Need I say more?

 We were not able to get the same cabin for both cruises. Our return cabin is two doors away. I guess we will have to shuffle our belongings between the two cabins, with a little help from our friends!!:)

JRF - That is easy put the dirty laundry in the suitcases under the bed & the cabin steward will help you move the rest as soon as the other passngers are gone.... The things that are on hangers stay there - just exchange hangers. Some times drawers can be exchanged to but the alternative would be to put all loose things into a suitcase and transport it 2 doors down....

Shouldn't take you longer than 30 mins to move everything.

Do you have a TA?? If yes have him/ her check with X regulary to see if there isn't a cabin in the same cat you could have back to back for both cruises. Sometimes cancellations happen -and you could be lucky.

We've done 3 B2B, twice in the same cabin. We recommend B2Bs.

On the Tahitian Princess we had to change cabins. We packed our drawers into the suitcases and a Princess attendent brought a hanging cart, hung all of our closet clothes and wheeled everything to our new room. Other cruise lines will do the same......:)

You won't have to solicit your friends. Schedule the move through your Room Steward.

We love to do BtoB cruises, but on different ships. We are trying to match the Millennium with the Westerdam next year for winter break. We did the Vision of the Seas (northbound) and the Summit(southbound) to Alaska a couple of years ago. Did the Caribbean Princess and the Zuiderdam BtoB this past summer. We prefer matching Celebrity with HAL, or two different Celebrity ships would be fun. If the price would drop a little, the best BtoB I've seen in a while, would be the new Noordam and Galaxy out of Rome next summer. One a ten day cruise, and the other an eleven day cruise, to just about every Greek island and neat place in the eastern Mediterranean. They both leave out of Rome (Civitavecchia)!

Enjoy!
