Rare cruisemom42 Posted May 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2017 Anyone see the new episode of Mighty Ships (Smithsonian channel) last night -- it was all about the Fram and their intensive Greenland voyage. It looked incredible -- and when I looked it up online, it had the cost to match. Perhaps partly because they only do a couple of them per year. I'd love to do that cruise one of these days.... kaisatsu Posted May 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2017 We watched part of it before our Fram sailing to Antarctica in December and found it quite interesting. She's a lovely and very comfortable ship, but since I'm somewhat fascinated by the operations side of things, I think I prefer some of the older polar expedition ships where the passenger facilities overlap more with the working areas. I've been wanting to visit northeast Greenland since my first trip to Antarctica, but the prices have been prohibitive. I was actually checking the Greenland sailings when we found a good deal and ended up booking the return trip to Antarctica instead!
