Price history for Thanksgiving cruise from Miami on Escape?

Hi everyone.

 

I booked a balcony room on the Escape on 11/18, which goes over Thanksgiving. It leaves from and returns to Miami, visiting Tortola, St. Thomas, and Nassau.

 

I did this with a casino certificate, and it cost me very little.

 

However, I need a second room, and that would be pretty damn expensive at this point, even with just an inside.

 

I have observed that many cruises drop heavily in price between the 75th and 14th days prior to sailing. This is AFTER the cancellation period.

 

Some very high demand cruises (such as Christmas) always sell out easily and never see this type of reduction.

 

Other less popular itineraries at less popular times of year have this occur frequently.

 

Thanksgiving is kind of a middle ground... it's not popular like Christmas, but also not unpopular.

 

For those with experience on this particular cruise: Did you see any price drops on inside cabins at any point after final payment date? I realize that doesn't necessarily indicate what will happen this year, but I'm trying to decide if I should book now or just gamble on a lower rate coming later.

 

Please only respond if you are familiar with this specific cruise and its pricing. I am not interested in any general commentary regarding late booking versus early booking.

NO I was on The Getaway in 2014 for Thanksgiving.in 2014. We had a very full house. Even the price of a Studio was a little on the high side compared to other times of the year.

Thanks, but I'm looking for people with specific knowledge of Thanksgiving on the Escape, and perhaps a bit more recent than 2014.

 

Also, I'm looking for those who actively monitored prices after final payment date.

 

Every ship sails full or almost full, since they will keep dropping prices to ensure that happens.

I was in the first Thanksgiving Escape cruise in 2015 which also happened to be the second 7 day cruise for the ship. Although we were in a midship mini suite, I did keep a close eye on price changes as we potentially had other family looking to join us if there was a drop. There was none. It could have been that the ship was still brand new...but we above capacity (with 3rd&4th) passengers and the last few rooms went up even more, both for insides, and outsides. Good luck.

But yeah, maybe 2015 was worse because it was newer then.

Were you looking at insides, though? Because that's what I'm looking to purchase.

 

My wife can grab an inside now at 20% off due to being a Caesars Diamond (excluding NCF, so it's more like 15% off), but the base price for an inside is still like $1100+tax per person, so that's pretty obnoxious for a 7-day cruise with 3 port stops.

 

I would feel like a complete chump if I paid prices like that now, and then saw the same insides going for $399 closer to sail date.

Thanksgiving was packed last year. We booked Thanksgiving again this year in early December. My sister decided to join us in January. I gave her all the info on our prices, perks, OBC and she still has not booked. The best price to date with no gratuities included and half the OBC is $200 more per person than we paid for the same cabin category. She is waiting it out, but last time she checked, it went up another $50.

I can tell you that having sailed NCL at Thanksgiving our experience is that prices are as low now as they will be at any time. You can expect a very full ship with a lot of families since many schools have the entire week off. It is as busy as Christmas time. I always watch pricing, and found that Thanksgiving cruises tend to increase in price the closer you get to sailing. I have never seen one that week decrease.
