On time into port?

Going on our first cruise in November on the Jade. Our first port, after a day at sea, is Puerto Rico. Scheduled to arrive at 3pm. Is scheduling an excursion for 4pm cutting it too close? How on time are these ships?

They are often early, absent any severe weather or mechanical issues (very rare).

As said, usually on time if not a bit early.

 

The only time it might be an issue is when they have to anchor and take shuttle boats ashore. That can get crazy.

In all the cruises I've been on (16 or so) I've arrived late to port only once. :D I wouldn't worry about your tour--vendors are generally pretty flexible when it comes to the ship's arrival. I've arranged a lot of private tours and they're aware you may not be able to get off the ship immediately.

You will be fine...it's a "walk off" port. No worries!

Actually the REAL issue would be.......making sure YOU are not late for sailaway.
