Airportlimbo Posted May 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2017 We've been offered to do a tour of a solstice class ship with our TA. She said there would be food offered and a "talk" with the expectation to book a future cruise. Has anyone done this type of event before? What's included? What's the "talk" about, is it like a timeshare pitch? Thanks -A
CEOofVacation Posted May 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2017 We booked "Inside Access" on Reflection that we just got off. About 2 hours long. $99 per person, got to go on the bridge, visited provisioning, laundry - amazing..., kitchen etc. Spoke with various officers and staff. No sales talk and no lunch. jelayne Posted May 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2017 The OP is asking about visiting the ship, they are not booked on a cruise. OP we have been on a couple of ships when Celebrity brings a small group of TAs on board to see the ship and have lunch. When we have seen the groups they have been touring the public spaces (buffet, pool area, MDR, casino etc). I don't know if they see any cabins. Doubt it would be a high pressure sell like a time share. The group is primarily TAs and the objective of the tour is too show off the ship and educate the TA on what X has to offer so they can sell Celebrity to their customers. Airportlimbo Posted May 14, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted May 14, 2017 Thanks! Correct we are not passengers, only allowed to board for a few hours while she's in port. It's being hosted by X and the TA, I believe it will mostly be clients and not TA's. Seeing some rooms would be nice, only been in the M class rooms. Rare ORV Posted May 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2017 We booked "Inside Access" on Reflection that we just got off. About 2 hours long. $99 per person, got to go on the bridge, visited provisioning, laundry - amazing..., kitchen etc. Spoke with various officers and staff. No sales talk and no lunch. Most of that used to be free. A few years ago they realized they could charge for it.
