Casino open while in Alaska ???

Hi All,

 

Does anyone who sailed to Alaska know when the casino is open.... Someone told me they are closed alot because you are sailing close to shore, is that true? just thought maybe someone who sailed this itinerary would know.

I am sailing the Jewel in June

I guess a lot could be arbitrary but from our experience the casino is open quite a bit. The only time it is closed is when you are of course in port and when you are within an hour to two hours from a port. Also, since areas like Glacier Bay is considered a national park the casino is also closed during that time, maybe half a day or so. I am not sure if Sawyer Glacier falls into that category but I would not be surprised if it did as well.

 

Depending on how much you want to be in the casino I think it is open quite a bit for you to enjoy.

casino was closed while docked and while sailing glacier bay. this was on teh Sun.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. My husband will be happy it is closed for some time during glacier bay lol.

Just like on any other cruise the casino is open nightly and on sea days, except when in the national parks.
