Island wannabe Posted May 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2017 One of my favourite things when going to foreign ports is shopping for local food stuff - Parmesan cheese and anything lemon in Italy for example. In Gilbraltar would I easily be able to buy British chocolates, cookies, sweets, etc? We have stores near me that sell British goods but there is such a markup to them and I really love British chocolate.
ExpatBride Posted May 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2017 There's a Morrison's grocery store, which is priced like a grocery store, rather than a tourist trap. That's probably your best bet.
Rare VMax1700 Posted May 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2017 I think there is a Marks and Spencer store on the Rock. You won't get much more British than that ;p
ExpatBride Posted May 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2017 I think there is a Marks and Spencer store on the Rock. You won't get much more British than that ;p The Gibraltar M&S is mostly clothes. The "Food Hall" is a tiny area on the top floor that barely stocks anything.
iancal Posted May 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2017 We find that British goods are less expensive where we live than than they are in Britain or Gib (we found them especially expensive-almost as bad as MS duty free stores).
