mommag3boys Posted May 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2017 I have acquired a few discounted E Gift Cards and was looking into purchasing a few more but wanted to double check some stuff; don't want to purchase more if we need the money itself. We will be sailing on the Paradise in July. Pretty much all our money is for drinks & casino. We don't buy much on the boats, maybe a souvenir and that's all. I know you can put the e gift cards on your sail & sign card but I just want to confirm if we do that we can use the funds in the casino? Some places do not allow you to use gift card funds for the casino. Do you give them your gift cards at the start of the cruise and it's just applied towards your sign and sail account basically as a budgeted amount or do you tie the sign and sail to the credit card and when you're done hand in the gift cards to pay on the balance you've accumulated during the cruise? I want to make sure a card is still tied to our account just in case we exceed our gift card balances. Can I per-purchase Cheers with the e gift cards? Thank you! Lets start with Cheers, unless they finally fixed the system then no.. but you are supposed to be able to go to guest services on board and say you tried to buy using gift cards but were not able too. And they will honor the price. As to casino funds, they casino will let you draw money from your S&S account from the slot machine ( no fee ) and from the tables ( 3%) fee. The casino does not care how the money gets to the S&S account. What this means for you is that you can open your account as cash, and then go to guest services and apply all the gift cards ( will take awhile since they are egift cards, lots of typing ). Or you can put a credit card on the account and go down later and apply them as you use the money in the casino. Either way, you end up using the gift cards to pay down the balance of your S&S before the end of the cruise. Anything left over in debt will be billed either to the cash you started with or your Credit Card.

"System Fixed"...or at least appears to be for the cruises I've got booked, There is an option during checkout to use gift cards to purchase Cheers, pre-cruise via Cruise Manager. Yes you can use gift card funds in the casino. They are applied to your S&S account and work just as if you had put cash on the account. 2. You can tie a CC to your S&S account and apply gift cards. They will use the GC up before hitting your CC. 3. Yes, you can use GC to pre-purchase Cheers!. They fixed the issue a couple of months ago.
