2nd Embarkation Day-How does it work?

We are on Getaway July 1 out of Warnmunde. It seems most start cruise the day before in Copenhagen.

Has anyone boarded at 2nd stop? And can you advise on how it all works?

E-Docs say boarding starts at 12 and ship leaves 10 pm. We will likely get there around 5pm.

When do we do drill? Will it take long for suitcases?

Thanks for any info and suggestions

Obviously things may work slightly different at Warnemunde, but the best comparison would be the Epic embarking at both Barcelona and Rome, which has been happening every week over the Summer for many years.

As you are boarding at the quieter port you should find that the embarkation itself should be very easy, without the queues that you would get at the main port. You should also get your bags quite quickly. However, you will likely encounter a few issues.

There will be a muster drill, but it will probably be held in one venue (and the rest of the ship will probably be unaware it's happening). When you get to Copenhagen however, the whole ship will close down for the main drill. If you are likely to be onboard when that happens then be prepared for it. You won't be able to get a drink or anything.

You will also find that the schedule is a bit strange. As your embarkation is the day after Copenhagen then it probably won't be quite as much of an issue as on the Epic (where for example Norwegian Night Out happens at the end of the cruise for the Rome embarkation). However, the days will be out on the dailies and things may be slightly out.

Another thing to watch out for is restaurant and show reservations. Others will have a days start on you, both for online reservations and onboard. That shouldn't stop you being able to get what you want, but be aware and don't hang around.

It will be interesting to see how it works out.

My freestyle daily for 17 May says Life boat drill for embarking guests was at 4pm in the theatre.

The ship left at 10pm that day as well, so not entirely sure what happens to guests who choose to arrive after that time - as you are planning to do.

They will have a make up drill for people who arrive after the drill has happened.

It's not uncommon for people to miss the drill when departure is later in the day, as you usually need to be there 2 hours before departure and the muster drill sometimes happens before that.
