for those of you who have done a private shorex at Petra, were you asked by the guide's company to give your name, phone #, date of birth, and passport # and did you feel comfortable doing that?

never mind----our TA said the tour guide is practicing due diligence with his request for the info. We'll be registered with the Jordanian govt while on the tour....higher end tours do this....whew!!!

Have found, through the years, that is not an unusual kind of request in various parts of the world.

joe--thanks for the confirmation! We just wanted to make sure that this was SOP!!

 

We're warned so often about identity theft that it was OK....our TA reassured us it was all good!!!

 

I think we're just about done figuring out what we're doing on Mumbai-Rome: a few private tours confirmed, taking advantage of the freebie shorexs (4each) and totally DIY in European ports.
