Port Canaveral Questions

We are a group of 7 ranging in age from 2 to 80 (three generations going!). This our first cruise out of Port Canaveral. I am a budget traveler and am always looking for ways to save a few dollars. We will be arriving in Orlando on the Friday morning before our Saturday cruise on the Carnival Magic. I already reserved a car rental for that day and a hotel in Orlando. Our plan is to go to the outlet stores near our hotel on Friday - well the females are - while the men can rest or use the hotel pool. When we go to the port on the day of the cruise - should we drop most of the passengers and the luggage off at the terminal before taking the rental back? Is it crowded and hard to get in and drop people off there? Also after the cruise we are also renting a car because we don't leave until about 6 that evening. Any suggestions on inexpensive things to do? My parents who are going aren't big on spending time at the beach so I'm kinda stumped. Thanks for any advice or help!

What kind of car have you rented that holds 7 passengers plus bags?

I would drop everyone off and then return the car -- 7 on the shuttle, including the 2-year old, could be an issue

Check out downtown Disney or whatever they call it now - some fun stuff for the little one plus many dining options; or there are always more outlet stores in Orlando.

Second the Disney Springs idea. Lots of neat shops and dining options (some very affordable) and the group will enjoy the free boat rides. Parking free also and no admission charge.
