FollowingTheSun Posted June 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2017 On the 17th June, Regal Princess stayed an extra day in Rostock and bypassed Tallinn, going direct to St Petersberg. Regal sped up after leaving Oslo to arrive in Rostock a few hours earlier, presumably to allow for more time to do repairs but they still needed the extra day. I would love to know what the problem was. Missing Tallinn would have been a big disappointment for us due to a family connection but these things happen and we will be forever grateful that our cruise went without problems... Tedferg Posted June 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2017 We did this cruise on June 2nd - there was a sea day after Oslo then a day in Warnemunde (Rostock) another Sea day before Tallin. Must have been a big repair. If they were early into Warnemunde you would think they could leave later and speed up during Sea Day to still include Tallin - even if it meant a shorter stay in Tallin. Level six Posted June 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2017 Any further updates on the Regal? We are thinking of booking, but want to make sure there is not a major problem. Thanks
Mo_Cruising Posted June 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2017 We also did this itinerary on June 2nd. So sorry you had to miss Tallinn! It really was a medieval fairy tale city. We enjoyed the port in Germany, however , and had a great time at this charming town also. Those who went into Berlin got an extension? PrincessCatarina Posted June 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Any further insight into the Regal? She is currently docked in St. Petersburg per schedule. Hopefully no other ports have to be skipped. There is enough of a challenge with the unpredictable weather in the region! Sailing on her in a few weeks and hoping not to miss any ports.(yn)
dee66 Posted June 23, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 23, 2017 I would have been very disappointed. We did the same cruise last year and Tallinn was a beautiful city and excellent port.
