Nomad_Cruiser Posted June 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2017 The broad description of the different levels for WiFi service doesn't answer my real question about them. For social games....(Candy Crush, Disney Imojisd,Clash of Clans, etc....) what level would you need? Teenager is worried about missing log ins and have never done any of the WiFi plans before
Drrandall Posted June 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2017 Hope the social plan works for Clash of Clans. Lol. I love that game
CharlesKru Posted June 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2017 You need the Value plan. And dont expect it to work well. It is extremely choppy and slow, but for games like candy crush or marvel puzzle quest you should be find ( match 3 games), For games like clash of clans not as good ( since it sends alot of data to setup the attack runs each time). The social plan only works with the listed apps.. they block everything else.
coevan Posted June 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2017 the cheapest plan is does not include the internet, just messaging. I have heard some people say yes, but CCL's website clearly says no.
hapytobehr Posted June 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2017 We get the most expensive plan all the time and it's not great. You will have problems streaming and/or playing games. Some ships are better than others. Happy Sailing!
originalgeek Posted June 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2017 I played Clash and Evony with the value plan and it was doable if a little slow loading at first. Social plan doesn't support it but maybe if it's a game you play while actually on Facebook it would work...Candy Crush worked fine and you can play it without any internet but you won't be able to get or give lives to and from friends without internet. Organized Chaos Posted June 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2017 And it's possible to upgrade to one of the higher plans if the one you start with doesn't fit your needs.

Yep, but you can't go the other way. In contrast to others, I was very pleased with the "Value" plan speed on our last two cruises, both were on Conquest. It was fast enough to carry on a voice conversation with someone at home using FB Messenger's "phone" option, and text messages were delivered within one second, even despite the satellite latency (half a second minimum). It was not quite fast enough to do a video call with FB Messenger, but we were fine with that.
